Records Requests

For discovery requests, visit the page of this website titled Defendants/Attorneys. For request for information/records from non-parties (media, public etc.), our process is controlled by Colorado Statutes, specifically C.R.S. 24-72-201 through 206 and C.R.S. 24-72-301 through 305. All requests for records from non-parties must be made by submitting the Application for Release of Adult Criminal Justice Records, below on this page.

The records held by our office are almost exclusively “criminal justice records” under Colorado law. Records regarding juvenile matters, and information that would identify the victim of a sex offense are not subject to release to the general public.

Pursuant to statute, there may be costs involved, which would apply at the following rates:

  • Hard copies of documents = $0.25 per page
  • Non-attorney staff time = $20 per hour
  • Attorney staff time = $30 per hour
  • Specialized document production or specialized skills required to fully comply with request = $30 per hour
